The Teacher

Teachers are motivated by service. Bethel Mekane Yesus school believes that the education and training of children is one of the greatest services one can render.

Teachers seek to inspire their students. The primary role of teachers at  Bethel Mekane Yesus school is to inspire students in their pursuit of learning and services.

Use appropriate discipline. Teachers are expected to maintain order and discipline in their classroom. However, physical and verbal abuse by teachers is unacceptable. Assume a humble posture of learning. We do not expect teachers to know all the answers on their subject or to automatically know how best to train every child. We do, however expect teachers to be in a constant learning mode. By this we mean that they should strive to be flexible, to be open minded, and open to the experiences and the learning of others.

The teacher’s attitude is more important than their depth of knowledge. Our experience has shown that to serve our mission the teacher’s spirit of service, posture of humble learning and personal characteristics are of greater importance than their depth of knowledge, experience or academic qualifications.
